June 6, 2011 - I am set up, presently, to do strictly RESIDENTIAL and COMMERCIAL Panel/Service upgrades (free estimates in most areas) from 60 to 100 or to 200 amperes. At other times - usually starting in the fall - I we may also do wiring INSURANCE INSPECTIONS including wiring consultations only for "RESIDENT" home owners. There is a PREPAID $100.00 charge to do estimates other than for a service upgrade which may be for rewwiring etc. Also, depending on time available in the fall, we may do knob & tube REPLACEMENT wiring or rewiring of older homes. This is all I do - as of Oct. 19, 2011.

SERVICE UPGRADES

ALL essential power for heating, lighting etc. will be "KEPT ON" at all times while a service upgrade is being done.

Only a period (if any at all) of 1-2hrs of a total power shut down may be required"

The service upgrade work is scheduled according to your time line, I work Saturdays.

The minimum cost of a 100 amperes residential service upgrade, as of June 05 - 2011 is approx. $1,900.00 One of the price affecting factors is how many circuits there are to reconnect back to the new panel and the length of the outside conduit being run including if a MAST above the roof is also required. No two service upgrades are ever alike.

A 200 amp. may cost approx. $400 to $600 more. - an EXACT price for a service upgrade will be given after viewing the work on site - MOST service upgrade estimates are free!

We also apply for the City of Winnipeg property tax rebate when available!

(UPDATE: Mar 31, 2009 )- MB Hydro financing is available. Interest rates were lowered

to 8.5% for general electrical renovations/upgrades and

4.9% for power smart electrical and other renovations.

NOTE: In most cases ONLY urgent needed work for approximately 3-10 hours may also may be possible to be done as long as I am doing a service upgrade at the same time! Any extra work not decided or not set out initially may NOT BE POSSIBLE OR may only be done about 2 - 4 weeks later. Any other work, 3-10 hours, should be included in the INITIAL estimate special package with already special lower prices. Extra work decided later will be at regular prices.

Such urgent needed work, 3-10 hours or even longer!, may be limited to (in residential): a receptacle in the kitchen, a washer receptacle, an outdoor receptacle, replacing a defective light fixture, replacement of SOME of the knob & tube wiring or any thing else similar which is regarded as urgent.
