It costs you much less for "professional work" which we provide. It has worked well for us the last 19 years.
Many small general contractors, in
this city, are exploiters of subtrades, you may be charged double or
more by the general contractor for the subtrade work such as electrical or
plumbing - and the G.C. rakes in all
the profits.
In direct
work, you get an UP FRONT EXACT and
final KNOWN PRICE from us for your electrical
work. Even when we work by the hour we try to the best way to assess how long it
may take - all according to previous similar jobs.
There is no "middle man"
charging you 30% to over 80% MARK UP COSTS and there is no confusion or
misunderstanding about the scope of work, scheduling, payments, warranties, etc.
We define EXACTLY what we are doing and itemized costs.

Over the years we have worked for
many good general contractors, however; a few (especially in Home
Renovations work) were very dishonest to us and to their customers and most
tried to make us do some kind of price fixing to fool the customer and, of
course, for their own profit! We never went along with such plans or
similar rip offs. Eventually we began working directly with the customer
instead.
Example: Years ago, we did a small service call and charged the
renovator contractor $80.00, the Contractor tried to charge the customer $400.00
for that service call! - a lady in a wheel chair! It stopped when she called the
B.B.B. There had been similar overcharge abuses especially when they were
dealing with the ELDERLY or DESABLED persons. Another one, without us
noticing, took the magnetic co. name sign off my vehicle and went to
estimate a wiring job!
After learning of that and other such similar
practices by many UNSCRUPULOUS contractors, I the owner, from then on, decided
to work only DIRECTLY for the customers. At the same time, I also took the
initiative of warning customers about such rip offs contractors by NAME.
I AM STILL PRESENTLY DOING SO TODAY!
Working directly for the customer
also means we do not hire SUB - CONTRACTORS to do electrical work.
BEWARE
of STEALTHY, SMOOTH, FLY BY NIGHT, JOE SIX PACK HOME RENOVATORS. There
are HUNDREDS around in Winnipeg. They will even offer to do your electrical
(and plumbing) work themselves - meaning, they will likely not call an
electrician, but in almost all cases do it themselves!. I have seen that a
few thousand times in 38 years. Ask at least 3 people you know if they ever
heard of such a contractor and check out at least 2 jobs completed by such a
renovator! Legitimate Residential ELECTRICIANS and plumbers are a good
source to ask information about such UNSCRUPULOUS home renovators ripping people
off.

With all that said above also
means that I am sending a public message here to those specific home renovators
contractors (they themselves know very well who I am referring to!) I have
been ignoring such caractors for many years. Further, they are not to
bother to call ACTION ELECTRIC to estimate or do any electrical work or to be
involved in any communication whatsoever!. The end!
