Updates - Current & up to date changes to the way we do business re: the type of electrical work we do, availability to do it and methods of payments and anything else which may change from time to time or even daily!.
June 25 2010
As per public demand, we only do service or panel upgrades to 100 or 200 amperes and a few hours of other type of electrical urgent work needed but only at the same time as the service upgrade or in some cases when we are doing electrical heat installation work and presently MAY ALSO DO ELECTRICAL INSPECTIONS AND REWIRING AND REC. ROOMS.
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ANY TYPE OF SHORT SERVICE CALLS. ALSO DO NOT DO REWIRING ESTIMATES unless an estimate fee of $80.00 is paid in advance. Rewiring estimating fees will be refunded if there is a service upgrade (to 100 or 200 amps) also to be estimated and then completed by us!
Mobile telephone: 981 2315 anytime - leave a vice message - it will be returned in a few minutes time.

NOTE: We do not do work such as RRAP Programs work - all due to (in my opinion I have seen over 20 years) some unscrupulous general contractors who hire handymen to do electrical work under a permit taken out by another unscrupulous electrician. We are not bidding against such workers. We may or may not do such work (usually only do electrical service upgrades). If it is decided we do such work it will be only when dealing directly with the homeowners when they are the "general contractor". This will prevent shoddy general moonlight contractors with a tilted rusted old half ton truck to mark up our work and charge you outrageous prices! Our work quality does not equate with such handymen low down characters (I have met dozens over the years) often chosen by the home owners and even by the RRAP inspectors.
In any case, give us a call regarding any electrical work. We may still give you some guidance, references, advice on your project even if we decide not to do it or are unable to schedule it according to your time line.

Some more information regarding business who like to take advantage of small contractors like me!
We may, at times, also do selective commercial and industrial work, however, payments have to be strictly "PAY AS YOU GO" We do not accept work PO. numbers to start the job or some other IMPRESSIVE number given over the phone as if to make it sound important and legitimate!. We accept only A REAL PAYMENT and paid with a certified check in Canadian currency funds only and likely to be paid in advance!. We are not in the financing business, therefore, we do not waite 90 days to get paid as some foreign people or aliens with commercial properties or business in Winnipeg or some others living in another planet would like it very much to be so!

February 24, 2004 - 'Short service calls' are probably where we do not respond immediately due to extensive time loss on the road traveling back and forth most of the time 40 minutes each way (50 in the winter) with a fully loaded van. The customer only sees us there for 10 or 15 minutes to 1/2 hour yet more than 1/4 or 1/3 of the working day is already used up!. Further, such calls put us in a situation where the next call or the next scheduled work may be delayed or altered or canceled or lost all due to timing, travel delays etc.
About "Free Estimates"
By telephone, all estimates are FREE! and are quite accurate!
On site Free Estimates apply only to SERVICE OR PANEL UPGRADES in residential occupancies and also applies to a TOTAL electrical heating installation in a home .
About short service calls - a better solution:
Every home (or building) built 10 years ago already needs
over 1-3 hours of CRITICAL electrical repairs and at least
another hour for safety maintenances such as tightening of the circuit breakers
screws especially where there is aluminum wiring, replace loose and worn
out switches, receptacles etc. Most homes 20 and 30 years old would need 5
- 10 hours of critical electrical repairs. Older homes usually need 2
or 5 days to over one week of critical electrical repairs to make it
entirely electrical safe for habitation!
Therefore, the
following are usually the best
economical choices for a service call:
Have the
electrician do the work as per your call and ALSO spend the remaining
time - up to 3 hours checking the safety of the installation. To be
practical for everyone and especially economical for the customer, the total
time on site should be a minimum of 3 hours or part thereof
at a pre determined minimum charge to be calculated on the distance
traveling from the 'city centre.' - however expect $250.00 minimum charge for
any electrical work.
Please check here again soon for more updates, price
changes and conditions to be met for other then service upgrade
work.
